Celebrate Hula...
Each year, the weekend following Easter, between 20 and 30 (dance troups) halau, descend to the flat shoreline plain of Hilo Hawaii in the shadow of an ancient active volcano. The dancers, their teachers (Kumu Hula) and families are joined by thousands of visitors from every one of the Hawaiian Islands, the mainland, and from abroad. This is a competition, a festival, a spritual dance union, a celebration, a commemoration, and a social gathering for anyone who is "Hula". This web site is dedicated to those who so diligently and tirelessly give to the perpetuation of the culture, the land, the dance...that is HAWAII. |
